"The "Fat Smash Diet" is the diet book that seems to have taken the diet world by
storm, thanks to the newfound celebrity status of it's author, Dr. Ian Smith who is
a regular on the hit show "Celebrity Fit Club", and is also a regular guest on
multiple talk shows and radio shows.  Practically the entire crew over at the Opie
and Anthony radio show on XM radio, has tried the diet and lost quite a bit of
collective weight on it, reviewing it's overall effectiveness highly."

My Personal Review of the Fat Smash Diet : Yep I've Done It!

My boyfriend and I purchased the Fat Smash Diet book with hopes of getting our eating habits back on track
after about a month of eating poorly, eating out a lot, and eating sweets whenever we wanted them.  It's really
hard to get back in the swing of eating a high fiber, low fat, protein adequate diet when you've fallen off the
wagon for a while, and we figured that having a written guide for what to eat and what not to eat was just the
thing to get our bodies back into shape.

My boyfriend had about 20-30 pounds that he'd like to lose, while I had about 10 pounds to lose.  So far we've
been on the diet for the first nine days, which Dr. Ian calls the "Detox Phase", and he has lost 9 pounds while
I have lost about 5.  I'll admit, we did slightly go off the diet for one meal during the weekend, but we got right
back on track the next day, and it didn't seem to slow down our progress yet.  Below is my full review of the
Fat Smash Diet, including pros and cons.

Fast Smash Diet Review : Pros, Cons, Benefits and Drawbacks

Review : Good Things About Fat Smash

  • I'm almost never hungry.  If I am hungry, it's almost time to eat again anyways, since he has you
eating several smaller "minimeals" each day.
  • I like that there is a variety of foods to choose from, even in the Detox stage.  Foods like oatmeal and
brown rice, which may be completely forbidden, but are very filling and satisfying foods, are included
    in this stage too.
  • The fact that all the foods you are "allowed" are layed out in chart form, and you can spread the daily
amounts out how you like is pretty cool.  You don't have to strictly eat you two cups of brown rice all in
one meal, or your one cup of oatmeal all in one meal if you want to split it up.
  • The book is short and an easy read, and doesn't get caught up in all the hype.  It's straight and to the
point.  If you do this, you'll lose this much weight.
  • There are recipes for each diet phase in the back of the book that are fairly easy to make and actually
    pretty tasty.
  • The book spans a time period of several weeks, not just a few weeks, which is unrealistic as a guide
to get your body back to it's healthy state, and regulate your metabolism and eating habits for a more
    permanent result
  • He allows you to choose the fruits and veggies you want, with little limitations on the types.
Sometimes diets say "don't eat carrots" or other veggies for crazy reasons.  This one lets you choose
the fruits and veggies you like, making it easier to stick to.

Review : Bad Things About Fat Smash

  • There are a few inconsistencies, or at least a few things that aren't explained thoroughly, which I
understand lends to the short and sweet factor of the book, but nonetheless, I'm a completist and
would have like to know.  For example, he says no cheese in the detox phase, but yet there is
parmesan cheese in one of his detox phase recipes in the back of the book.
  • Another example is that he doesn't mention whether low fat mayo or condiments are allowed in the
detox phase (which I'd like to know), but yet there are condiments in some of the Detox phase recipes
as well.  I guess I need this kind of stuff spelled out for me.  It may not matter to some people though.
  • That is the only Con about the Fat Smash Diet by Dr. Ian Smith that I can think of, is inconsistency or
incomplete directions in some parts.  But, get this.  You can email Dr. Ian through his website and
he'll answer any questions you have about his diet regimen.  How's that for getting your money's
    worth?

Overall, I (and my boyfriend) give Dr. Ian's Fat Smash Diet and excellent review.  It's easy to follow, has
concise directions on what foods to avoid, and also extends the diet to reach outside of the normal few
weeks so that you can permanently and safely change your eating habits, as well as still eat some "bad"
foods in moderation.

It's all about teaching you portion control and how to pick the right foods, at least the majority of the time.  It
also does give you results in weight loss, we are a perfect example of that.  Oh yeah, and we're not starving
all the time, which is by far the biggest reason to try the Fat Smash Diet if you're fed up with being overweight,
or you just need some guidance to get your body back on track.
